What we collect, and why
We run no analytics. There is no tracking script, no analytics cookie, and no third party measuring your visit.
Cookies. This site's own code does not set any cookies. It runs behind Cloudflare, which we use to speed up loading for visitors in the US and Europe (page speed feeds the Core Web Vitals search engines use for ranking, which is why it's there). As part of that, Cloudflare sets its own short-lived cookie to tell bot traffic from real visitors — we don't read it, it carries no information we collect, and it isn't linked to anything else described on this page. Cloudflare's own documentation describes that cookie in more detail.
Rate limiting (the waitlist and contact forms). These forms record the IP address a submission came from, and use it to block a rapid burst of submissions from the same address. That address is held only in the server's memory for at most a minute, never written to disk or a database, and is not linked to the name, email address, or message you submit.
Joining a class waitlist (at /join). We store the email address, the
level you tell us you're at, the time zone you give us, and the date you
consented, so we can group you with other learners who can attend the same
hour once enough people at your level have registered. This is processed
through our email platform, MailerLite.
Contacting us (at /contact). We receive your name, email address, and
message, and reply to the email address you gave us. This is sent through
our email provider, Resend, and lands in a mailbox we read directly.
Buying a digital product. At the time of writing, no digital products are for sale on this site yet. When they are, purchases will be handled by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record: it will process your payment, calculate and remit any tax, and deliver the file. We will not receive or store your card details, and Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy will govern that part of the transaction.
How long we keep it
Contact messages arrive in a mailbox through Resend. There is no database and nothing automatically deletes them — they stay in that mailbox indefinitely. If you'd like a message deleted, email hello@koreanssaem.com and we will delete it by hand.
Waitlist email addresses are kept in MailerLite until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. When an address unsubscribes, MailerLite keeps its own record of that on its own retention schedule, so the address isn't re-subscribed by mistake — that record is MailerLite's, not something we control the timing of. If you'd like your address removed from MailerLite entirely, rather than only unsubscribed, email us and we will do it by hand.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or elsewhere with similar protections, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or hand it to you in a portable form, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@koreanssaem.com and we will act on a request without undue delay, and in any case within 30 days except where the law allows us more time for a complex request.
Legal basis
Waitlist signups run on your consent, given when you check the box on the form — you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or asking us to. Replying to a contact-form message relies on our legitimate interest in answering the question you sent us.
Changes
We will update this page as the site's data practices actually change, and update the date at the top when we do.
